Un Instant en Provence

4835 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Bakery-café opened in late November 2023 on Notre-Dame Ouest by Nans Roche, who settled in Saint-Henri after working at several major Montreal pastry shops. Pastry chef Alexis Pelisson, with more than ten years' experience in the south of France, turns out mille-feuille, Paris-Brest, lemon meringue tart and lavender éclair.

Savoury items — jambon-beurre, quiche lorraine — draw largely on the nearby Atwater Market; coffee is roasted by Canal, a neighbourhood roaster. About a dozen seats on site.
