Romies

465 rue McGill

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened at the end of June 2023 on McGill Street, in the former Boris Bistro space, by couple Alexandre Cohen and Raegan Steinberg, also behind Arthurs Nosh Bar. Designer Annika Krausz, known for Bar Wills and Lawrence, built an interior blending industrial and vintage notes: burgundy leather banquettes, marble tables, black-and-white photos.

The American bistro reworks diner classics with a Montreal twist, in a roughly 80-seat room extended by a leafy courtyard where guests play pétanque.
