On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.
Smokehouse founded in 2007 in NDG, where Bofinger established itself as a pioneer of American-style barbecue in Montreal. Meats — brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, pulled pork — are dry-rubbed and slow-smoked over maple wood for up to 24 hours, with no additives or artificial smoke, then finished with house-made sauces.
One of Bofinger's owners is also a co-owner of the Cajun restaurant La Louisiane, nearby on the same street, according to food blog CulturEatz. Since its founding location in Monkland Village, the brand has expanded to several more locations.
Bofinger BBQ Smokehouse is on the Regulars map — spotted, not yet visited. Our guides are written on foot, door by door, and no one pays to appear: when we walk through the door, this note will become a portrait. No points. No coupons. Standing is earned.
