Ganges Restaurant

6079, rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montréal

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

A halal South Indian restaurant that has run for almost 30 years on Sherbrooke West in NDG. Chef Haque has personally staffed the kitchen, the dining room and the greeting of guests for many years — lamb korma, chicken tikka masala, beef vindaloo and garlic naan are among the house staples.

A bring-your-own-wine policy sets the address apart from other Indian tables in the area. Active in the NDG community, Ganges has been named among Montreal's top Indian restaurants by longtime patrons over the decades.
