Pasta Casareccia

5849, rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montréal

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

An NDG family institution since 1985, Pasta Casareccia grew from a counter selling fresh pasta and imported olive oil into a full restaurant and boutique. Mauro Petraccone, who was hauling garbage there at age 11, is now its sole owner — forty years on, as The Main reported in November 2025.

Everything from lasagna to rigatoni alla Norcina is made fresh daily in-house from 100 percent durum semolina. The attached boutique sells Italian spices, chocolates and imports alongside the dining room.
