3618 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened in 2014 on Notre-Dame Ouest by David Bloom with chef Raquel Zagury, built around made-to-order falafel and shawarma plus a liquor licence. Bloom got his start at Tuck Shop, run by his brother Jon; another brother, Ryan, is behind nearby Rustique and Urban Bonfire.

Chicken shawarma is the top seller, followed by falafel; the sabich — fried eggplant, hard-boiled egg, cucumber pickles and amba mango pickle — is the lesser-known but signature dish.
