Restaurant Holder

407 rue McGill

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened in 2003 on McGill Street by brothers Maurice, Richard and Paul Holder, also behind Darling and Majestique, this grand European-style brasserie carries the family name. The interior, designed by the late Luc Laporte, plays on high ceilings, brass fixtures and expansive windows.

Now a Montreal classic, Holder leans into a confident French brasserie menu — beef cheeks, duck confit, tartare, mussels — paired with an extensive wine list.
