On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.
A small bistro-style steakhouse opened on Notre-Dame West by restaurateur Thomas Vernis, conceived as a tribute to L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean, his former go-to spot that has since closed. The formula is simple: AAA-grade beef, hand-cut fries and a house sauce, served in a neighbourhood room with a summer terrace. The menu rounds out the steak frites with classics like mushroom soup and oysters.
A second location exists in Old Montreal, but the Petite-Bourgogne room remains the original neighbourhood table.
Mignon Steak Frites is on the Regulars map — spotted, not yet visited. Our guides are written on foot, door by door, and no one pays to appear: when we walk through the door, this note will become a portrait. No points. No coupons. Standing is earned.
