Maison Indian Curry

996, rue Jean-Talon Ouest, Montréal

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

North Indian address open since August 2007 in the heart of Parc-Extension, in a colourful room decorated with paintings and a bubble wall. The thali — butter chicken, lamb curry, or vegetarian curry — is the house specialty, alongside dosas (plain, masala, paneer, chicken) and naan made fresh daily.

Samosas, tandoori chicken, biryani, and chana masala round out the menu; for dessert, cardamom-scented gulab jamun and rasmalai. Tastet ranks it among Montréal's best Indian restaurants.
