Punjab Palace

920, rue Jean-Talon Ouest, Montréal

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

One of the pioneers of Indian cooking on Jean-Talon in Parc-Extension, open since 1991. The house serves home-style North Indian cooking — thalis, vegetarian dishes, butter chicken, lamb and mutton preparations, naan breads — in the spirit of Indian home cooking.

The restaurant, which is bring-your-own-wine, is regularly cited among the neighbourhood's long-standing Indian addresses, known for its affordable lunch specials and consistency.
