HENI

2621 rue Notre-Dame Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened in August 2023 on Notre-Dame West by Soufian Mamlouk (also behind Barley and Lulu Épicerie), general manager Noah Abecassis, sommelier Rami El Sabban and designer Omar Boubess, Heni puts chef Julien Robillard — previously at the shuttered Pastel and five years at Hôtel Le St. James — in the kitchen. The menu ranges across the Middle East and North Africa, with hummus bil lahme made with braised veal cheek as the signature dish.

The wine list, largely Lebanese, comes from the Sienna agency; downstairs, the Badin bar is run by Émile Archambault, winner of the 2019 Laurier Mixologue of the Year award.
