Café Gotsoul

1970 rue Notre-Dame Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

A listening café founded by DJ Jojo Flores and his brother Toddy on Notre-Dame West, inspired by vinyl bars in Tokyo, London and New York. The basement houses a collection of 15,000-plus titles that Flores has built since his teens; upstairs, a La Marzocco espresso machine and Filipino-inspired bites, including a calamansi cannoli.

Weekends are given over to disco, house, jazz and soul, played through vintage speakers that rotate monthly.
