Bird Bar

1800 rue Notre-Dame Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened in November 2016 in Griffintown by chef Kimberly Lallouz (Miss Prêt-à-Manger, Monsieur), mentored by Joe Beef's David McMillan, Bird Bar built its name on fried chicken. The technique, based on pressure-steaming before frying, is said to cut the usual fat content by 40 to 60 percent, served with thirteen sauces and sides.

The menu also includes "Mockpok," a vegan mock-chicken option, alongside brisket and wagyu corn dogs, in a lively bar setting.
