Dispensa Épicerie Italienne

696, rue William, Montréal

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Opened in November 2014 on Rue William by Antony Molinaro, his brother Aldo, and partner Daniel Guerrera, Dispensa combines a café, counter service, and Italian grocery inside a discreet stone storefront, tucked away from the tourist bustle of Old Montreal.

The warm decor evokes a 1960s southern Italian neighborhood grocery; the draw is the coffee, fresh sandwiches, and pastries, carried by the founders' aim to share the culture they grew up in.
