Rotisserie opened in 1944 by Swiss immigrant Marcel Mauron at the eastern edge of NDG on Sherbrooke West — predating even the St-Hubert chain, founded in 1951. The kitsch decor and brown benches have changed little, and service remains family-style.
Chickens are slow-roasted over charcoal in brick ovens for crisp skin and juicy meat, served with fries and a secret house gravy. Pies and cakes round out the dessert menu.
