A café founded in 1976 at the corner of Saint-Urbain and Duluth, born out of an attempt to save the building it still occupies.
The house writes that it has become an institution in the neighbourhood and a meeting place for people from all walks of life, and it is the terrace that gets cited most often. The menu holds to sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts. It takes no reservations, and the house is closed Tuesdays.
Café Santropol is on the Regulars map — noted, not yet visited. Our guides are written on foot, door by door, and nobody pays to be in them. Whether the house takes part in Regulars is still to be confirmed. No points, no coupons — standing is earned.
