A waiting room
worth arriving early for.

Inside Beaconsfield station, the room that once meant only departure now gives the neighbourhood a reason to stay.

Thea Borck and Vanessa Pellicciotta opened La Station Café in March 2024 after imagining what the commute could feel like with genuinely good coffee, something homemade and a familiar face behind the counter.

At six in the morning, the assignment is practical. Later, it changes: neighbours settle in, friends meet, lunch stretches and the station becomes a small public room for Beaconsfield.

The founders · 02

Thea and Vanessa built the room they wanted to find.

A station is usually a place between places. They made this one a destination.

Thea remembered commuting from Beaconsfield to McGill and wishing the station had the kind of coffee room she knew from Europe. With Vanessa, that memory became a working café.

The details carry their hands: restored benches, an upcycled installation, a yellow espresso machine, house recipes and a counter designed to waste less. When the café was broken into in December 2024, the community showed up for them—the clearest possible proof that the meeting place had become real.

The café serves drinks, homemade baked goods and lunch. Prices stay off this portrait until the house confirms its Regulars menu and terms.

Toasted oat milk

Made in-house from locally grown oats, the toasted oat milk became a Beaconsfield signature. The remaining oat pulp can return to the pastry case rather than the bin.

The rhythm · 04

Before the train.
After the train.
Without the train.

La Station works at several speeds: a cup taken to the platform, a short exchange at the counter, or a long neighbourhood visit with nowhere else to be.
