On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.
Opened in 1995 next to the Jean-Talon Market by sisters Chahla and Tania Frangié and Chahla's husband, Jean-François Potvin — an extension of Restaurant Alep, the five-table spot their father Georges opened in 1976, a year after arriving from Aleppo, Syria. The kitchen, still run by the two sisters and occasionally their mother Jacqueline, blends Syrian and Armenian heritage.
Muhammara, kibbeh tartare, chich taouk and baklawa are the signatures. Bib Gourmand in Quebec's first-ever Michelin Guide, 2025.
Le Petit Alep is on the Regulars map — spotted, not yet visited. Our guides are written on foot, door by door, and no one pays to appear: when we walk through the door, this note will become a portrait. No points. No coupons. Standing is earned.
