Anemone

271 Rue Saint-Zotique Ouest

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

Anemone opened in November 2022 in the former Manitoba space in Mile-Ex, led by chefs Minh Phat Tu (ex-Mui Mui) and Mike Madokoro (ex-Bar Suzanne), with sommelier Elena Racevičiūtė-Ouellette. The name honours Elena's father, who dreamed of three floral tattoos for the Canadian provinces he lived in — the anemone standing for Manitoba.

The kitchen turns out modern, locally rooted cooking on an ever-changing menu, from ceviche to seasonal pastas. La Presse praised it soon after opening, and Tastet named it among the city's best new tables.
