Jolee

5495, avenue Victoria

On our map. We haven't walked through the door yet — here's why it's on the list.

One of Montreal's first Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurants, opened in 2001 on Avenue Victoria, steps from Côte-Sainte-Catherine metro. The menu runs to mutton biryani, chicken 65, string hoppers and beef, mutton or vegetarian rolls.

Generous portions and affordable prices are regularly noted, with some diners travelling specifically for the house goat curry.
